Shortstop Alcides Escobar reached an agreement with the Sharks of La Guaira to play in the upcoming season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) 2022-23.
This was announced by the salty organization itself through social networks.
For his part, the general manager of the coastal team, César Collins, welcomed him and specified that the experienced 35-year-old infielder will join Henry Blanco’s troop during the month of November.
During his 13-year stay in the Major Leagues, Alcides Escobar defended the colors of the Milwaukee Brewers, Kansas City Royals and Washington Nationals.

In his record, the native of La Sabana, La Guaira state, has a Gold Glove, an All-Star Game, the Most Valuable Player of the American League Championship and a World Series ring (2015).
The guaireño already played in the LVBP with the Tiburones uniform during the 2016-17 postseason.
If they finally cheer up and receive permission from the Atlanta Braves, the cousins Acuña Jr. and Alcides will be the main attractions of the Sharks, who seek to end the 36-year title drought.
