Director Prasad Oak has made effective use of flashback technique in the plot. The characters of MP Daulatrao, his wife Dolly, his father-in-law Dadasaheb, Sadu Nanasaheb, Nanasaheb’s wife are on one side and Chandramukhi, her mother and their companion are on the other side. A tight mesh of drama is interwoven into the plot due to these contrasting positions. The love and enmity that grows as people from these two worlds of completely different nature almost come together is well presented in this movie.
Music is the soul of this movie. Magical musicians Ajay-Atul have done each song of Chandramukhi so passionately that along with the story Ajay Atul’s music makes this movie reach a unique height. Guru Thakur’s penmanship and Ajay-Atul’s swartal is a number bahar.
Sanjay Memane, the cinematographer of this film, captures the beauty on one side and the dark side of politics on the other hand.
Chandramukhi is Prasad Oak’s next film as a director after Kacha Limbu, Hirakani.. Adinath Kothare, who is MP Daulatrao, is a genuine people’s leader and a responsible personality, has done his best in this role. Love attached to the moon, failure in politics, conflict with wife are well presented by Adinath.
Along with these two roles, Dolly in the role of Daulatrao’s wife is equally effective. Actress Mrinmayi Deshpande, Dolly who loves her husband dearly, Dolly who collapses when she realizes her husband’s love for Chandra is well portrayed by Mrinmayi.
Mohan Agashe, Rajendra Shisatkar, Surbhi Bhave, Vandana Vaknis, Ashok Shinde, Radha Sagar have played their roles perfectly.
The surprise Pankage in this movie is actor Sameer Chowghule. Battyasha, played by Sameer, stands up in all the major roles… This is the best role that Sameer has ever played..
