Margot said, I can’t tell you how sad we were. We look like we are laughing, having fun, but dying inside. I was like ‘this is the most humiliating moment of my life’.
Fallon asked if Robbie expected this kind of backlash around the leaked footage.
“I mean, I knew we had some exteriors to shoot in LA, I knew, well, once you’re doing exteriors, you’re going to be pretty happy. There’s probably a lot of people out there. There’s going to be a little crowd that’s going to take notice, because you know, Floro. We’re a little different in those outfits”, she explained. “And so I knew there would be a little bit of attention, and maybe some pictures there.” Will leave, but it didn’t happen.”
“It was like hundreds of people were watching the whole time,” Margot said.
“Barbie” is directed by Greta Gerwig and the plot is under wraps, although rumors have suggested that the story revolves around several different versions of Barbie and Ken dolls. In addition to the main characters, the cast includes America Ferreira, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma McKay, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae and Michael Cera.
Barbie opens in theaters on July 21, 2023.
