Charlie Puth has revealed a collab with BTS member Jungkook for his upcoming single Left and Right. This would be their first K-pop merger.
Twitter is currently in a craze after Charlie Puth released a music video teaser for his new single Left & Right on Wednesday (June 22). Featuring vibrant pops of pink and green, the track will be a slow, relaxing jam for summer.
#LeftAndRightIsComing has been trending ever since with over 60k tweets. As always, ARMY is fumbling for the youngest BTS member. However, it is a TikTok of the pair showcasing their musical talent that has garnered views. It’s been eight hours, 10.3 million views so far.
Charlie Puth has teased the song for weeks
Apart from being a musician with a divine voice, Puth is an avid TikToker. Fans have come to know about Left and Right for several weeks after the hint came on the platform. After being surrounded by questions about who the feature is, the See You Again singer has finally revealed some information. It was so vague, however, that only ARMY was able to guess.
Indicating only “September 1”, which is Jungkook’s birthday, many fans successfully understood it. However, a user mentioned Zendaya, who also celebrates her birthday on September 1.
The answer was confirmed a day later with this behind-the-scenes TikTok, and their voices “smooth as butter” together.
left and right is the only thing that fills us all week
The epic BTS Jungkook & Charlie Puth collab releases on Friday, June 24 at 12PM ET / 1PMKST. It is believed that the music video is likely to drop at the same time.
It is a first for both left and right artists as it is Puth’s first duet with a K-pop idol, and it is Jungkook’s first solo duet with a Western artist.
Puth most recently worked with Elton John for the album Lockdown Sessions from Legend. While the youngest BTS member gifted fans a touching track titled My You.
With lyrics like “All these lights are colored by you, all these times are precious because of you”, her fans groaned on Twitter — and possibly even offline.
If only we could sum up a beat like this:
