JK Rowling pranked on Zoom video call by President Zelensky’s impersonator

JK Rowling was pranked by a Russian impersonator, Vovan, and Lexus (Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov), pretending to be Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a Zoom video call.

The internet is reacting to a video harry potter Writer JK Rowling’s recent video call where she is convinced that she is talking to the President of Ukraine.

This is not the first time that Woven and Lexus have approached and pranked high-profile celebrities.

JK Rowling jokes on Zoom video call

In the clip that is going viral on social media, JK Rowling can be seen sitting on a chair and talking about who she considers to be the President of Ukraine.

While the writer had his camera, the prankster did not. Over the course of the 12-minute video, the clowns made several references to Harry Potter, the first occurring in their favor. Calling it “Jade”, JK Rowling was asked if she could turn it into the symbol of the Ukrainian trident.

As the conversation went on, the jokers also asked JK Rowling if Dumbledore was actually gay. The conversation ended on a strange note where the comedy duo noted that they were writing “Avada Kedavra”, the murder curse in the Harry Potter franchise.

How did JK Rowling react to this?

JK Rowling’s rep confirmed the video is real, but said it was edited while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. Calling it “distasteful”, the representative said the author was contacted to talk about the charitable work he is doing to help people who are currently in Ukraine.

JK Rowling has long been speaking out about the crisis in Ukraine. In fact, the author even did a blog post about it to raise more awareness about the conditions in the country.

In an article titled: “Children trapped in orphanages are hidden victims of war in Ukraine,” the author described how many children lost their family members and their childhoods.

In the same blog post, JK Rowling opened up about her charity Lumos which was helping Ukrainian children. She revealed that the charity has managed to raise millions, while she will also contribute £1 million.
