Peralta defended and drove in victory for Tampa Bay

Venezuelan David Peralta made an extraordinary play and contributed an RBI in Saturday’s victory for the Tampa Bay Rays (5 to 1) over the Texas Rangers.

In the first inning itself, Peralta turned on “the locomotive” to catch a dangerous hit down the short left field zone.

Later, the 35-year-old Valencian hit a sacrifice fly to drive in his team’s first run.

Peralta reached 480 RBIs for life in the MLB and equaled José Celestino López in 35th place among the Venezuelans with the most produced in the “Big Show”.
