Fulham are interested in signing AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli as a free agent with terms expiring on June 30, and here are four other options for Marco Silva to consider.

Silva is now keen to avoid following his predecessors’ charge by preventing Fulham from falling straight into second division. And he believes Romagnoli has the leadership and skills to lead the club into the next stint, with the Rossneri captain taking the market for free on July 1.

Fulham interested in signing AC Milan captain Romagnoli as a free agent

Fulham have offered Romagnoli a move to the Premier League as a free agent, whose contract at AC Milan expires this month. TuttoMercatoWEB reports Silva has presented the Italian with a €4m-a-year (£66k-a/w) deal as he is serious about signing the centre-half.

AC Milan are open to Romagnoli as he fell to Stefano Pioli’s pecking order after winning the Serie A title last season. The 12-cap Azurri enforcer played only 19 league fixtures in the previous stint, as well as seven cup ties, including five of six in the Champions League.

The transfer to Craven’s Cottage would be the first Roma product spell in England that had not been played outside Italy. But Romagnoli is one of several soon-to-be-freed agents that Silva could sign to bolster his ranks at Fulham to avoid relegation from the Premier League…
