Rangers table raises bid for £2.5m star, player wants Ibrox move

Sun Claims Rangers have extended their offer to sign PAOK striker Antonio Kolak after an initial bid of £1.75 million was rejected. The Croatia international is keen to move to Ibrox after a difficult 2021-22 campaign.

The 28-year-old played for both Malmö in Sweden and PAOK in Greece – going on loan to Malmö for his 2021 season in March and returning in December. He scored a very impressive 19 goals in 40 appearances.

He returned to PAOK but in his 23 appearances since December, Kolak made only nine starts. The striker has two years left in his deal but Rangers remain very interested – and have now extended their initial offer for the German-born ace.

Rangers saw that the initial £1.75 million move was rejected. PAOK wants £2.5million – and Rangers have now raised their bid to £2million, plus add-ons. It’s not clear how realistic the add-ons are, and how much they’re worth.

Rangers extended Kolk offer

Rangers are in dire need of a striker and the absence of Alfredo Morelos proved last season. While Kemar Roof and Fashion Sakla show glimpses, they are far from the influence Morelos had above.

Colombia star Morelos has been able to direct two centre-backs – allowing more room for Gers’ midfielders. Not only that, he regularly scores much higher than Roof or Sakla. Having a proper number 9 is important.

Kolch is just that. Physical, powerful and good in the air, Kolac stands at 6 feet 2 inches and is capable of reaching the end of the James Tavernier, or Borna Barisic Cross. He fits into the Rangers system.
