Tottenham, Leeds and Newcastle want the 20-year-old to be compared to Phil Foden once

Tottenham, Leeds and Newcastle are among clubs reportedly interested in signing PSV Eindhoven wonderkid Noni Maduke this summer – a player once compared to Manchester City superstar Phil Foden, by Eddie Boothroyd.

Maduke, 20, joined PSV in 2018 at the age of just 16 and in his four years in the Netherlands, he has become a regular for the Eredivisie giants. He has made 70 senior appearances, handing in 32 goals.

Last season, Madudke scored nine goals and six assists from 34, with a muscle problem limiting him to only two games between September and February. His state is even more impressive, considering he didn’t complete 90 minutes once.

Now, a return to the Premier League is on the cards for the London-born ace. 90Min says Tottenham want him back, while other reports say Leeds, Newcastle and Arsenal have taken a look. He was compared to Foden in 2021.

“Certainly, a very talented young man. A bit like Philo [Foden] Last time, nobody heard about him until he came and played in the tournament, ”Boothride said in the mail. “A lovable infectious character who even comes across on the phone.”

Maduke would be a great signing for most Premier League clubs, but he needs to join a club where his playing time can be regular. Had he been fit in PSV, he could have easily played 50 matches.

He would like to join a team where he plays at least 30 times a season and starts them regularly. At Arsenal or Tottenham, it is unlikely. Newcastle need a winger, and Everton could sell Richardson and Anthony Gordon.

But of course, with Rafinha leaving Leeds, heading to land Road is best for Maduke. Not least because the Yorkshire club are ready to put their faith in young players. Leeds would be his best move.
