West Ham want Yuri Tielemans and could make their move to the Leicester City midfielder after Arsenal’s withdrawal.

The Hammers splashed cash on defender Nayef guiard last week and this week secured a permanent fix on Alphonse Areola.

David Moyes now wants more signings and has had strong ties with both Jesse Lingard and Arnaut Danjuma this week.

Attacking reinforcements will be the priority but there could also be a big midfield extra to come.

West Ham want Yuri Tielemans

Tomas Soucek’s future at West Ham is in question, while Mark Noble has retired and Alex Krall’s loan expires.

West Ham need a midfielder in the central midfield and Moyes could have a bigger target in mind.

The Mirror (29/06, p45) reports that West Ham are now set to join the race for Leicester City midfielder Yuri Tielemans.

It has been said that Arsenal were moving to Tielemans, but the Gunners signed Fabio Vieira from Porto instead.

What seemed like a sure thing for Tielemann joining Arsenal is now up in the air, and West Ham are looking to swoon.

Tielemann is out of contract in 2023 and Leicester are looking to sell this summer instead of losing nothing in a year.

Moyes is set to pounce with a move to Tielemans, which will be quite an ambitious pursuit.

Many expected the 25-year-old Tielemans to join the Champions League club if he were to leave Fox this summer.

Yet he fell down to a Europa League club at Arsenal and could now go down again to a Europa Conference League side at West Ham.

The Belgium international is clearly a talented player, but the real elite of the Premier League isn’t all that interested – and that could benefit West Ham this summer.
