Urías shines and the Dodgers reach 100 wins

Mexican Julio Urías got his 17th victory of the season and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 7-2 on Saturday to reach 100 wins.

It is the tenth time they have achieved such a number of wins, the fourth in six years.

Urías (17-7) prescribed eight strikeouts and issued a walk over six innings. He improved to 4-1 against San Francisco so far this season.

The Mexican allowed two runs and five hits.

Only Wilmer Flores was able to hit him forcefully in the third inning, when he made it 6-2 with his 19th home run of the year, a new personal mark for the Venezuelan.

Tray Thompson had started the California attack in the second inning with a two-run homer off Sean Hjelle. And the next inning, five consecutive singles and a walk translated into four runs and sentenced the commitment.

The rain forecast for this Sunday threatens the last match of the series. A contingency plan aims to play on September 26, the day both clubs rest.
